PMCB waste: Ecomaison partners with Ecominero

Although the law distinguishes between the recycling of inert and non-inert materials, on your building sites and in your stores, you have both concrete and wood to deal with. To simplify the recycling of your waste, Ecomaison and Ecominéro have signed a partnership agreement to offer you a complete range of services.

Two eco-organization partners for PMCB waste

Why this partnership? Because Ecomaison and Ecominéro are complementary. In fact, we have received approval for category 2 PMCB waste, the "non-inert" ones: metals, wood, plaster, foams, plastics, etc., in which we have expertise, thanks to our more than 10 years' experience in the furniture sector. They account for 25% of total PMCB (building products and materials) waste. The rest, category 1, the "inerts": concrete, terracotta, glass... areEcominéro's specialty.

Created on the initiative of manufacturers of mineral-based construction products and materials, Ecominéro boasts recognized expertise in the recycling and recovery of inert materials, as well as in-depth knowledge of major construction sites and the companies that manage them. As for Ecomaison, we are the historic eco-organization for the furnishings sector, now multi-filières, and well-versed in consumer issues.

Simplified procedures, a stronger network

This partnership is based on the idea of offering members simplified procedures for both categories. In other words, whether you're on the Ecomaison or Ecominéro platform, you'll have a single entry point for complying with both categories and managing your contracts. All your recycling obligations for building materials, whatever their category, will be taken care of.

In addition, Ecominéro has a network of collection points for inert waste, and Ecomaison is also making available its collection network, which will be strengthened over the coming months to reach 6,000 collection points by 2026. In this way, the two eco-organizations will gradually strengthen their network of collection points as the sector gains momentum. This merger also enables us to offer optimized management of the waste skips needed to meet regulatory requirements for source separation and separate collection of so-called "7-stream" waste.

Dominique Mignon, President of Ecomaison

For Ecomaison, providing a contractual and operational response to both inert and non-inert categories is part of our drive to offer our members and their distributor customers, both craftsmen and private individuals, comprehensive and straightforward solutions.

Cross mandates

How does it work in practice? The partnership is based on reciprocal, non-exclusive cross-mandates: each partner will act as the other's agent for its approval category. In this way, Ecomaison will represent Ecominéro to its members under a transparent mandate, and offer its marketers the possibility of membership in both categories.

For category 1, Ecomaison will apply Ecominéro's eco-contribution terms and rates. Conversely, certain Ecominéro member producers concerned by category 2 will be able to rely on Ecomaison.
