Why not add a touch of freshness to your home with our upcycling ideas? By the way, what is upcycling?
What is upcycling?
It's the art of creating new objects from used objects or materials, in order to give them a new use. Upcycling is a way of adding value to objects you might think were destined for recycling.
Materials from your work: a goldmine for your interior
You've recently had some work done and that door is no longer of use to you? A little stencil paint, for example, and it's transformed into an original headboard.
In the same way, shutters, once refurbished and joined together, become a screen to define a new space.
And if you've recently installed new windows, why not keep the old frames and use them as photo holders? All you have to do is add a cork base and pin up your notes.
Furniture for many uses
We all have furniture and objects at home that we no longer use, or have grown tired of. However, it's perfectly possible to extend their lifespan, and therefore reduce their impact on the environment... and back-to-school expenses.
Have you replaced your old stool? No longer used in the living room or kitchen? It's perfect as a bedside table in your bedroom, or as a pocket organizer in your hallway.
Don't you like your library anymore? Why not renovate it? You can find new uses for it: china cabinet, dressing room, pantry...
The slats of a wooden bed base are also precious: with their pretty natural color, they can be transformed into a piece of wall furniture for a bathroom, a coat rack with a few hooks, a support for your plants...
Of course, if your household objects and materials are too worn to be upcycled, you can entrust them to Ecomaison for recycling.
