In the run-up to Christmas, the Laisse Parler Ton Coeur operation, organized with ecosystem, returns for a new edition from November 16 to December 9. Everyone is encouraged to donate their used toys.
A simple gesture for a united Christmas
Electric, electronic, wooden, construction, board, fabric... not forgetting masquerade costume, puzzles, dolls, etc., all toys and games are welcome! Simplicity is at the heart of the operation: all you have to do is drop off the toys you no longer use in one of the containers set up by the 500 participating municipalities in town halls, libraries, media libraries and waste collection centers.
Since 2010, the initiative has been helping to reduce waste while helping those in need. This year, the collection runs from November 16 to December 9, as part of the European Week for Waste Reduction.
These toys will then be sorted, completed if necessary and refurbished to be sold at solidarity prices by partner associations: Red Cross branches, Emmaüs, Restos du Cœur, Secours Catholique, Secours Populaire or independent structures.
This initiative makes the purchase of Christmas gifts more accessible to all, while promoting a reuse approach.
In 15 years, over 294 tonnes of toys or the equivalent of 18,652 hoods
were collected thanks to everyone's commitment.
Solutions for every type of toy
For toys that cannot be reused, a recycling process is set up according to their nature. Electrical toys, for example, are entrusted to ecosystem, which has specific channels for their treatment. For its part, Ecomaison takes care of non-electronic toys to ensure they are recycled in the best possible conditions.
