The resource economy: understanding my role

Since its creation over 10 years ago, the Ecomaison eco-organization has played an active role in the development of waste recycling and recovery. Initially, our action concerned furniture and bedding, known as "Waste Furnishing Components" (WFC). Since 2022, it has been extended to include DIY and garden items, toys and building products and materials. We work with partners all over the country, and for every link in the waste recycling and recovery chain. Their involvement with us is essential. Here's why.

Become a player in the resource economy

Transport, sorting, materials preparation, reuse, recycling, operation: by choosing to place your expertise at the service of Ecomaison, you join a vast industrial and logistical waste management network, with strong environmental ambitions.

As an eco-organization, Ecomaison's missions are mainly financed by eco-taxes. But, to accelerate the achievement of our "zero waste" objective, we seek to create value beyond this initial funding. So, the more quality recycled materials our network produces, and the more they are valorized on the so-called raw materials market, the greater the investments we can make to progress. The challenge is considerable, and is taken up every day by the many players who process more and more waste to give it a second life.

Be part of an ever-growing movement

The 2020 Anti-Waste for a Circular Economy (AGEC) law has considerably accelerated the movement towards zero waste, our goal since 2013. By making collection schemes compulsory for distributors, manufacturers and local authorities, the pool of resources exploitable by Ecomaison continues to grow.

We received new approvals in 2022, which broaden the variety of items we can value to the world of the home, from foundations to finishes: furniture, bedding, decorative textiles, toys, DIY and garden items, building products and building materials.

As a partner, you're taking part in a fast-growing activity that keeps waste out of landfill and gives it value.

Using raw materials from recycling or as fuel

Our partners' activities are not limited to the waste supply chain. As a manufacturer, you can choose to purchase raw materials from Ecomaison. These materials, resulting from the sorting, preparation and manufacture of usable recycled materials, are thus valorized and their value reinjected into the resource economy.

Supporting the region

We still sometimes have no choice but to send certain components to another European Union country, for lack of an operator in France. In such cases, we manage to avoid landfilling them, but their recovery does not ultimately benefit our region. For ecological and economic reasons, our aim is to reduce as far as possible the proportion of collected waste sent outside our borders. We are committed to this ecological patriotism, and as a partner, you can help us to achieve it, particularly in the French overseas departments and territories, where relocating outlets as close as possible to collection sites is a major environmental challenge.

Innovate

We encourage all our members and partners to accelerate innovation around eco-design. Produce with less material, or from recycled materials, reduce packaging, plan for reparability... We directly finance innovative projects. In addition to these direct incentives, we actively monitor the market and share this information with our members and partners. This is a valuable source of first-rate information on innovation and eco-design. By working with us, you'll be part of this momentum and benefit from it.
