Experimentation with "Yoyo" from June 2019 in Bordeaux
To facilitate the sorting and recycling of comforters, pillows, cushions and sleeping bags, Eco-mobilier is testing an original and innovative local collection operation in Bordeaux for six months, in association with the "Yoyo" positive ecology scheme.
June 18, 2019 - Eco-mobilier is the eco-organization in charge of collecting, sorting and recycling all used furniture.
Since October 2018, Eco-mobilier's scope has also included used comforters, pillows, cushions and sleeping bags. To advance their recycling, Eco-mobilier wants to rely on local initiatives that encourage and simplify the right gesture. That's why an initial six-month trial has been launched in Bordeaux, with "Yoyo", a positive ecology scheme established locally.
Rewarding residents who recycle more and better
"Eco-mobilier approached Yoyo to mobilize the people of Bordeaux. Thanks to their positive ecology scheme, which rewards residents who recycle more and better, we want to provide a new local collection solution for comforters and pillows," explains Dominique Mignon, President of Eco-mobilier.

- Bordeaux sorters who register on the pillow.yoyo.eco platform. They choose a point-relais in the city center, which explains the sorting instructions and gives them an Eco-mobilier bag with Yoyo. Once the bag is full, the Sorter takes it back to his Coach, who registers it, automatically awarding points that can be exchanged for rewards on the online store.
- Coaches are relay points, such as stores or businesses, which undertake to train Sorters in the deposits through a direct relationship. They collect and store bags full of used comforters, pillows, cushions and sleeping bags. Eco-mobilier then collects the bags for recycling and recovery.
Four coaches already involved in the Eco-mobilier scheme with Yoyo
As part of this experiment, Eco-mobilier, via Yoyo, is working with four partners:
- L'Atelier D'éco Solidaire, an emblematic Bordeaux figure in the circular economy, notably through its recycling center, which gives a second life to recycled objects.
- Auchan Bordeaux Lac, located in the Aushopping Bordeaux Lac shopping center, is committed to collecting bedding products.
- Grand Litier, a French retailer specializing in the sale of bedding products. The Bordeaux Lac and Bègles stores are taking part in the Eco-mobilier bag take-back operation with Yoyo and mobilizing their customers.
- Serendipity is a gift and craft store located in downtown Bordeaux. This store, committed to greening the city, will also be hosting the Trieurs Éco-mobilier with Yoyo.
