Eco-mobilier is launching Maison du tri, a service program designed to help French people sort, tidy, donate and recycle their furniture, bedding and household items.
For five months, in five pilot areas, reaching five million French people, Maison du tri will offer services and appointments: local collection points, bag take-back of used bedding and one-off collections with retailers. The launch will be supported by a digital and local communications campaign and some 250 appointments organized with partner retailers.
With Maison du tri, all is said and done: the French know that their used furniture, properly sorted, will be recycled.

Bordeaux, October 20, 2020 - Eco-mobilier is a non-profit eco organization created in December 2011 for the collection, sorting and recycling of used furniture, aiming for ZERO waste for furniture.

In five pilot départements (Charente-Maritime, Gironde, Ille-et-Vilaine, Meurthe-et-Moselle and Nord), Eco-mobilier is launching its Maison du tri program. The aim is for consumers to find solutions for donating or recycling their household items close to home. With the Maison du tri marker, consumers will better understand that the eco-participation fee they pay at the store is used to recycle the used products they bring back or have taken back on delivery, and thus have the guarantee that their used item will be recycled or recovered as energy.

Change, tidy and sort with a light heart with Maison du tri

It's not always easy to find the right place at the right time to get rid of your furniture, bedding or objects. But that was a long time ago!
Maison du tri is the Frenchman's companion, offering solutions and services to help with de-cluttering, advice on tidying and sorting, and online tools for changing furniture or mattresses with ease.
Maison du tri and Eco-mobilier are convinced that tidying up at home contributes to our well-being.

A preview in 5 départements

In Charente-Maritime, Gironde, Ille-et-Vilaine, Meurthe-et-Moselle and Nord, residents will be able to find:
- appointments organized with retailers to facilitate the collection of used furniture, mattresses, comforters and pillows,
- online tools to identify the right places to donate, repair and recycle your furniture,
- advice sheets and practical & inspiring content to motivate you to tidy up and sort your home.

Maison du tri meetings with retailers

On Saturday, Maison du tri is inviting the French to drop off their old furniture, mattresses and household equipment outside furniture and DIY stores.
A Maison du tri tent, a truck and beach flags will be set up to welcome them. Maison du tri coordinators will be on hand all day to talk about Maison du tri solutions, reuse and recycling...

The list of the 250 events is now available on the website: maisondutri.fr/les-rendez-vousmaison-

All year round with social economy players

Maison du Tri is a caring and supportive organization, working in partnership with the social economy to encourage the French to give more. In addition to the Maison du tri events held in partnership with associations on Saturdays, solidarity players collect used furniture throughout the year to resell it at solidarity prices or donate it for solidarity purposes. All furniture that is not resold is collected by Maison du tri for recycling.

The mattress bag Maison du tri

From now on, everyone will be able to pick up a mattress bag from our partner stores, for the clean disposal of their old mattress. Once packaged and protected in this way, the mattress can be taken back on delivery or returned to a dedicated collection point (identified on maisondutri.fr). As well as being hygienic and practical, the mattress bag guarantees that the bedding can be recycled in the best possible conditions.

A digital & local communication campaign

To raise awareness of these services among the French, Maison du tri is launching its first communications campaign.

A website features a geolocation map of collection points, a calendar of appointments, practical tips for tidying up...

Maison du tri's news and advice is also available on social networks: a dedicated Facebook page and Instagram account enable exchanges with the French on their tidying, sorting and decorating habits, so that the services and tools on offer can be adapted to their needs. To introduce itself and tell its story, Maison du tri has also created a first film, which you can watch here.

In parallel with its digital communications, Maison du tri is developing its local presence in pilot départements, with poster and press campaigns. All Maison du tri actions can be found on maisondutri.fr
