At the Assises Professionnelles de la Piscine 2023, Ecomaison will be meeting professionals to inform them of their reuse and recycling obligations, and to offer them a full range of services to meet them.

Ecomaison will be present at the Assises Professionnelles de la Piscine from March 28 to 30, 2023, at the Parc Chanot in Marseille, Level 1 stand 62, to inform and answer questions from pool professionals about their reuse and recycling obligations. Since January 1, 2023, they have been subject to Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for construction products and materials (PMCB) and DIY and garden products (ABJ).

Ecomaison is the eco-organization for the whole home, approved by the French government to organize the re-use and recycling channels for building products and materials and DIY and garden items, introduced by the French Anti-Waste for a Circular Economy Act (AGEC).

Ecomaison is a one-stop shop for ..:

  • Swimming pools, sanitary systems, all non-inert materials (paint, wood tiles, etc.) that fall within the scope of PMCB EPR,
  • Inert materials used in the construction of the pool and its surroundings (concrete, etc.) are managed in partnership with Ecominéro, a partner eco-organization,
  • All removable pool accessories such as covers, ladders, cleaning equipment, etc., which fall within the scope of the ABJ EPR.

The Ecomaison teams will be presenting all the services and solutions available to companies:

  • eco-tax and product code generator.
  • configurator to automate the assignment of prices to product references,
  • organizing the collection of used articles for chains and distributors,
  • team training, incentives for innovation and eco-design.

"We are developing innovation to transform the regulatory obligations of the AGEC law into an opportunity to move towards better eco-designed products and the deployment of an ever more efficient recycling chain. Yes, innovation is at the heart of our strategy, with cutting-edge research programs such as the studies we are carrying out into the recycling of liners. Dominique Mignon, President Ecomaison

Who is affected by re-use and recycling regulations?

In France, the principle of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) has been enshrined in law since 1975. It derives from the "polluter pays" principle, which means that the person who places a product on the market is responsible for its end-of-life management. Marketers, also known as producers, are all natural or legal persons who, on a professional basis, manufacture, import or introduce products onto the national market.

This means that all manufacturers, importers, distributors and marketplaces must comply with the regulations governing reuse and recycling. Pool installers, on the other hand, are not concerned.

Financing collection, reuse and recycling

Each manufacturer must pay an eco-participation fee to Ecomaison. The sums paid finance reuse, containers and collection, transport, recycling and waste recovery, as well as research and development and eco-design incentives.
