Changing mattresses also means changing lives. Behind every mattress collected lies a double promise: giving materials a second life and offering a new opportunity to those who recycle them.

One mattress, two destinies

Your mattress has had its day. It's too saggy, too old, or even uncomfortable. You order a new one, but what to do with the old one?

Good news: when your new mattress is delivered, our partner retailers will take away your old one free of charge. No hassle, no illegal dumping. Just a simple gesture that sets off a virtuous chain reaction.

Dismantle to reintegrate

Every year, 4.5 million mattresses are collected and recycled thanks to Ecomaison and its partners. But beyond the figures, there are human stories. Recyc Matelas Europe is committed to inclusion. Half of its employees are hired on integration contracts, often having been out of work for a long time. Here, we don't just dismantle mattresses. We rebuild career paths through personalized support that covers both technical skills and the soft skills essential for integration.

“Here, we recycle more than two million mattresses, equivalent to three times the weight of the Eiffel Tower. And because people are at the heart of our mission, we have chosen to help those in need by offering them jobs. It’s a human and industrial adventure we are proud of.”

William Avignon, Chief Development Officer

Everything changes

Foam, textiles, metal... Nothing is wasted. Each component is carefully separated and then transformed into a new raw material:

  • The foam is used in industry to manufacture cattle bedding mats, acoustic underlay, and new upholstery.
  • Textiles are recycled into industrial rags, insulation, or padding materials.
  • Metal (springs) goes to recycling facilities to be remelted.

A mattress contains an average of 25 kg of materials that can be reused instead of ending up in landfill. And behind every act of sorting, there is a hand, a skill, a person who is learning, progressing, and regaining confidence.

Your next mattress purchase can make a difference. By choosing free collection, you are helping the environment and promoting professional integration. Two causes, one simple action.
