Ecomaison Governance – Alexandre Falck Re-elected for a Three-Year Term as Chairman of the Board of Directors

Governance Tailored to the Challenges Facing EPR Sectors

At its General Meeting on June 25, 2026, Ecomaison revised its governance structure to strengthen the representation of each of its certification sectors (Furniture, Construction, Home Improvement and Gardening, and Games and Toys) in the decision-making process.

This change is reflected, in particular, in a smaller Board of Directors (13 directors and 2 independent directors, down from 20 previously) and in sector-specific committees with expanded responsibilities in their respective areas.

This change in governance is also intended to encourage new market entrants to participate in the eco-organization’s governing bodies and to strengthen the representation of all stakeholders across the various sectors.

Alexandre Falck Re-elected for a New Three-Year Term

Since 2023, Alexandre Falck has been helping Ecomaison grow. Despite an environment marked by numerous economic, regulatory, and industry-specific challenges, the eco-organization has met its operational commitments, strengthened its regional network, developed new service offerings, and achieved key milestones across all four of its sectors.

For this new term, Alexandre Falck intends to continue the initiatives already underway to ensure the stability and transparency of Ecomaison’s operations during a pivotal period for the EPR sectors. In an economic environment marked by a slowdown in the real estate market and uncertainties weighing on certain sectors, the coming years will be devoted in particular to consolidating the economic model of the programs, adapting to regulatory changes, and implementing the new governance structure.

It also intends to continue the efforts already underway to ensure that all distributors contribute equitably to the financing of EPR systems, particularly in light of the massive increase in small-package shipments by major international platforms.

“We are at a pivotal moment for our industries. The decisions that will be made in the coming years regarding the governance of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) programs, industry funding, and competitive conditions will have lasting consequences for all stakeholders. In this context, Ecomaison is operationally sound, has demonstrated its ability to meet environmental goals, and will continue its commitment to championing a model based on responsibility, fairness, and efficiency. Our priority will be to ensure that our members have the stability and visibility they need to invest, innovate, and accelerate the transition to an increasingly efficient circular economy.”
