With the new Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) scheme for commercial packaging set to come into force, Ecomaison and CITEO PRO have announced a strategic partnership designed to address the challenges facing the sector. This alliance aims to combine and pool the expertise of the two eco-organizations in order to guarantee a simplified compliance process for companies involved in several EPR sectors and to improve reuse and recycling performance.
A joint response to the requirements of the future EPR for Professional Packaging
As part of the future extended producer responsibility (EPR) scheme for professional packaging, approved eco-organizations will be called upon to support distributors and manufacturers in its implementation, in particular to optimize the management of packaging waste from industrial sites and distribution networks and to take charge of wood from waste collection centers, which constitutes a significant flow in the packaging used by companies (pallets, trestles, etc.). It is in this context that Ecomaison and CITEO PRO have decided to combine their expertise:
- Ecomaison has extensive operational experience in implementing EPR schemes and managing wood, as the eco-organization already operates multi-sector systems under its EPR approvals for furniture, toys, DIY and gardening, and construction. The eco-organization already has a solid network of local authorities, distributors, and partner operators with more than 200 sorting centers.
- CITEO PRO, created to deploy solutions dedicated to professional packaging and currently the only eco-organization approved for extended producer responsibility (EPR) for food service packaging, brings proven expertise in the 3Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle) and the management of professional packaging waste.
By pooling their expertise, the two eco-organizations are ensuring rapid, consistent, and operational deployment as soon as the future sector comes into effect.
