In Meurthe-et-Moselle, Rendez-vous Maison du tri with furniture and DIY stores to help you sort and recycle household items.

Eco-mobilier offers Maison du tri, a program designed to help the French sort, store, donate and recycle their used furniture and bedding. Launched last October and interrupted due to health measures, the Maison du tri program has been relaunched in five pilot areas, in partnership with furniture and DIY retailers. Maison du tri also offers local services: dedicated collection points for used furniture and a bag to make it easier to take back old bedding. Maison du tri says it all: the French know that their properly sorted used furniture will be reused or recycled.

Toul, February 15, 2021 - Eco-mobilier is a non-profit eco-organization created in December 2011 for the collection, sorting and recycling of used furniture, aiming for ZERO waste for furniture.

Change, tidy and sort with a light heart with Maison du tri

It's not always easy to find the right place at the right time to get rid of your furniture, bedding or objects. But that was before! With Maison du tri, Eco-mobilier offers solutions and services to help with de-cluttering, advice on how to store and sort properly, and online tools to help you change your furniture or mattress lightly. Maison du tri and Eco-mobilier are convinced that tidying up at home contributes to well-being.

In five pilot départements (Charente-Maritime, Gironde, Ille-et-Vilaine, Meurthe-et-Moselle and Nord), Ecomobilier is testing its Maison du tri program. The aim is to help consumers find solutions for donating or recycling household items close to home. With the Maison du tri marker, consumers will better understand that the eco-participation fee they pay at the store is used to recycle the used products they bring back or have taken back on delivery, and thus have the guarantee that their used item will be recycled or recovered as energy.

All year round with a key player in the social economy

Maison du tri is a caring and supportive organization, working in partnership with the social economy - and in Meurthe-et-Moselle with Emmaüs Mont sur Meurthe - to encourage French people to give more.

In addition to the Maison du tri events organized in partnership with associations on Saturdays, solidarity players collect used furniture throughout the year for resale at solidarity prices or for donation. All furniture that is not resold is collected by Maison du tri for recycling.

The mattress bag Maison du tri

From now on, in Meurthe-et-Moselle, at partner stores Conforama, Maison de la Literie, La Halle au Sommeil and Atlas, everyone can pick up a mattress bag to dispose of their old bedding properly. Once packaged and protected in this way, the mattress can be taken back on delivery or returned to a dedicated collection point (identified on maisondutri.fr). As well as being hygienic and practical, the mattress bag guarantees that the bedding can be recycled in the best possible conditions.

A digital & local communication campaign

Maison du tri's news and advice are also available on social networks: a dedicated Facebook page and Instagram account enable us to talk to the French about their tidying, sorting and decorating habits, so that we can tailor our services and tools to their needs. To introduce itself and tell its story, Maison du tri has also created a first film, which you can watch here.

In parallel with its digital communications, Maison du tri is developing its local presence in pilot départements, with poster and press campaigns. All Maison du tri actions can be found on maisondutri.fr
