Signing of a 2-year partnership agreement
The Brittany Region and Ecomaison, a state-approved eco-organization, today formalized their collaboration at the
ressourcerie in Bain-de-Bretagne, by signing a two-year partnership agreement. This
strategic alliance aims to accelerate the deployment of the circular economy in Brittany, and to
amplify actions in favor of the ecological transition.
A partnership serving Breton environmental objectives
The Brittany Region, which has long been committed to the ecological transition, has set itself ambitious targets
: to achieve "zero landfill of recoverable waste" by 2030, and to aim for "zero waste"
by 2040.
Ecomaison, which manages end-of-life products for four EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) channels: furniture and bedding, toys, DIY and garden products, and building products and materials
, shares these environmental ambitions.
Significant results in Brittany
The figures testify to Ecomaison's commitment to the Breton region: 87,050 tonnes of products and
materials recovered in 2024 from 865 collection points (78,850 t for the three channels and 8,200 t for
building). Of these volumes, 2,626 tonnes of objects were reused (2,509 tonnes of furnishings, 69
tonnes of toys and 48 tonnes of DIY and garden items). Ecomaison has already forged partnerships
with 39 Breton Social and Solidarity Economy structures, including the Bain-de-Bretagne ressourcerie,
set up by SMITCOM Pays de Vilaine and managed by Mode d'emplois, an association specializing in
integration (12 FTEs).
Four priorities for action
This is the first time that Ecomaison, which has been in existence for 10 years, has entered into contact with a Region. The
partnership has four main focuses:
- Promotion of reuse: support for Ecomaison's "Reuse and Territories" calls for expressions of interest and organization of annual meetings between local players.
- Raising public awareness: co-financed educational campaigns and use of the Bretagne Circulaire platform.
- Development of repair: self-repair initiatives and support for local players.
- Support for innovation: support for innovative projects and experimentation with new sectors such as ceramics.
