Ecomaison, the environmental organization responsible for giving household items a second life, announces the grand return of its “Toy Rescue Mission” campaign. For its 2026 edition, the event will take place at the Westfield Les 4 Temps shopping center in La Défense on Friday, April 24, and Saturday, April 25. It’s a unique and completely free opportunity for children and their families to learn the right habits—so they no longer throw their toys in the trash—through an interactive experience.
A mission: to save toys from the trash
Nearly 3 out of 10 French people still throw their used toys in the trash, preventing them from being reused or recycled. Given that 67% of these toys are still in good condition¹, there is an urgent need to promote best practices for giving toys a second life.
To reverse this trend, Ecomaison invites children (ages 3 and up) and their families to become true “Toy Savers.” Held in the heart of the Les 4 Temps shopping center, the event will feature a free interactive experience centered around three flagship workshops:
- The Répar’Tout Mission: a hands-on and fun workshop designed to help participants develop a repair mindset by working with and fixing a DIY workbench, a balance bike, and a garden slide themselves, using the spare parts provided.
- The Recup’Jouets Mission: an upcycling workshop to learn how to give toys a second life, hosted in collaboration with La Recyclerie du Gâtinais.
- The Recycling Challenge: an interactive game to learn the proper way to sort waste and find out which specific bin to put each used item in.

The Success of the 2025 Edition
This new edition builds on the experience of the first tour in the spring of 2025. Last year, Ecomaison’s “Toy Rescue Mission” raised awareness among nearly 1,000 young “Super Heroes” and 2,000 parents across France about sorting toys. During the 2025 stops in the Île-de-France region alone, the event attracted more than 900 visitors and taught nearly 350 children how to repair and reuse toys.
Repair, Donate, or Recycle: A Choice That Makes All the Difference…
While Ecomaison’s mission is to manage the end of a product’s life cycle, its work goes far beyond simple recycling. Today, there are many practical solutions that can extend the lifespan of our everyday products. By reaching out directly to families through fun, educational events, Ecomaison helps instill these new habits so they become a lasting part of daily life. To make it easier for people to take action throughout the year, a nationwide network of more than 6,000 collection points is already operational across France. Specialty toy stores, local organizations, and public recycling centers are equipped with dedicated drop-off stations to easily accept all games and toys ready for a second life.
