Already a partner of Conforama since last November, Geev, the 1st app for private donations of objects and food, announced today that it has entered into a partnership with Ecomaison, a government-approved organization for managing the collection, sorting, reuse and recycling of household materials and objects. This operation represents a key step in the development of the start-up and its B2B offers.
With this new partnership, Geev is referenced by Ecomaison members as a player who advances circularity in French people's daily lives.
Since 2022, the anti-waste law for a circular economy, known as the AGEC law, has obliged furniture retailers to have a solution for taking back used furniture from their customers, as well as to set up a system for managing unsold stock to prevent it being destroyed.
To help furniture manufacturers meet these new obligations, Geev has developed a service enabling them to organize the donation of objects prior to their return or orientation towards recycling channels. To build on this momentum, Geev has just signed a partnership agreement with Ecomaison.
Ecomaison partner of Geev
Ecomaison is the state-approvedeco-organization for the sorting, collection, reuse and recycling of household objects and materials: furniture, bedding, decorative textiles, building products and materials, DIY and garden items, toys. At its creation in 2011, 55% of furniture was landfilled. By 2022, 97% of furniture had been reused or recycled. The progress achieved makes the furniture sector an efficient one, setting the benchmark for the implementation of new recycling channels.
With its partners in the social and solidarity economy and in the digital world, Ecomaison promotes the development of re-use with strong solidarity objectives, fundamental to this activity.
Geev, the #1 take-back solution for furniture manufacturers and distributors
Thanks to this agreement, Geev will be able to promote its BtoB and BtoBtoC offers to all players in the sector - furniture manufacturers and distributors, collection and sorting operators, recycling companies, etc. - to further anchor circularity in economic activities and everyday French life. - to further anchor circularity in the economic activities and daily lives of the French. A greater role with key professional accounts will also enable it to consolidate the credibility and audience of its activities.
A large-scale experiment
It could also give rise to an experiment on a regional scale to demonstrate the impact of new schemes associating digital and social economy players on the development of reuse and the extension of objects' lifespan.
