Children's page

This summer, from Cabourg to Saint-Jean de Luz by way of La Baule, Ecomaison is organizing, in partnership with the Journal de Mickey, a major toy drive in 16 beach clubs. It's an opportunity for your children to sort through their toys and games, and take part in a great movement of solidarity.

Beach clubs are an integral part of our summer vacation landscape. With their trampolines and entertainers, they make a major contribution to the happy atmosphere on the beach, offering children fun activities they'll remember for a long time to come. This year, these clubs are also becoming a place of solidarity!

From July 6 to August 30, Ecomaison will be setting up collection points on 16 French beaches, where you can drop off your unused toys and games (excluding electrical and electronic toys).

Associations involved in giving new life to toys

Each of the selected clubs is associated with a Social and Solidarity Economy organization, which will be responsible for processing all donations at the end of the summer.

The associations ACIADES Caen, Emmaüs Bayonne, Emmaüs Saintes, La Malle à Rejouer and Recyc'La vie are the five partners in this summer toy drive.

The toys and games they collect can be reused, if in good condition, to make other children happy (via donations or resale at fair prices). And if they are too worn to be refurbished, they will be recycled.

A collection with many challenges

The toy drive is part of a global initiative launched by Ecomaison to raise awareness among as many people as possible, especially youngsters, of the importance of donating and reusing toys. Because donating toys means acting on several levels:

  • reduce their environmental footprint;
  • solidarity with low-income earners;
  • development of the gesture of giving, which can later be extended to all household items.

Whether you're camping, staying at your second home or renting out your vacation accommodation, you'll no doubt have toys and games on hand that your children no longer need, or that you don't want to pack in your suitcases on the way home... do the right thing and donate them.

Our partner beach clubs are waiting for your visit!
