Ecomaison rewards eco-design efforts with bonuses and eco-modulation of rates
Eco-modulated eco-tax rates
The amount of the eco-participation is modulated according to the eco-design effort, based on three criteria: recyclability, sustainable resource management, and extended useful life.
What are the eligibility criteria?
Ecomaison offers its members modulated rates in all sectors, based on the following criteria.
A few definitions
Recyclability
Ecomaison includes 4 levels of recyclability in its price list:
- Not recoverable
- Valuable
- Mostly recyclable
- Fully recyclable
The Majority recyclable and Fully recyclable levels are applicable in the absence of physical or chemical disruptors to recycling.
Renewable Resources
Tariff modulations linked to the sustainable management of renewable resources and the use of biobased materials are integrated into the tariffs. A condition for the application of the "sustainable management" tariff is the absence of physical or chemical recycling disruptors.
Extended useful life
Products with an evolutionary design are those whose design anticipates and allows for multiple successive uses.
A few examples of eco-modulations
For a particleboard cabinet
The basic eco-participation fee is €5.30.
If it is fully recyclable, the reduced rate is €3.70.
If recycled material is incorporated: an additional €0.20 premium paid by Ecomaison; the equivalent net eco-tax is reduced to €3.50.
For PVC windows
If the window is fully recyclable: reduced price of €2.
And if recycled material is incorporated: an additional €0.54 bonus paid by Ecomaison; the net eco-tax is reduced to €1.46.
If the marketer takes back the windows himself: rebate of €1.60 per window taken back and recycled directly by the marketer.
Premium for the incorporation of recycled materials
The premium for the incorporation of recycled materials (IMR) rewards manufacturers and distributors who are members of Ecomaison for their policy of sourcing and incorporating recycled materials (IMR) in all their products placed on the market in the various sectors. It has been applied since 2024 for the Furniture and Building sectors, and will be applied in 2025 for the Toys and DIY sectors.
This premium takes the form of an amount in euros, calculated on the basis of the declared quantity of post-consumer recycled material incorporated into objects and materials, produced above a threshold or minimum incorporation rate depending on professional practice.
