To promote the development of the circular economy, Ecomaison is launching a new call for projects titled “Building Reuse Together.” This initiative aims to foster partnerships between its members—manufacturers and distributors—and reuse organizations in the social and solidarity economy. Here are details and instructions on how to apply.
Through the “Building Reuse Together” call for projects, Ecomaison aims to foster concrete and innovative collaborations. The goal is to create or accelerate effective reuse initiatives. Selected projects will receive financial support to assist with their implementation and rollout. This initiative is expected to encourage new collaborations between Ecomaison members and social economy organizations. The selected participants will take part in the operational activities necessary to drive growth in the three sectors involved:
- home furnishings (furniture, bedding, decor, textiles)
- toys and games (non-electric, non-electronic) – DIY and gardening supplies (categories 3 and 4)
Clear, Quantified Challenges
The new call for projects launched by Ecomaison is part of its action plans on reuse. The eco-organization aims to support initiatives led by partnerships between “members and social economy actors” that promote the creation of ambitious, viable, and robust models, based on a framework of joint management and the sharing of the value created. To align with regulatory objectives, eligible projects must commit to additional tonnages of reused materials, to be achieved within two years:
- at least 50 metric tons in the furniture sector
- at least 10 metric tons in the toy, DIY, and garden product sectors
These projects offer an additional benefit: they can be incorporated into companies’ non-financial performance reporting (ESG data). Consequently, the criteria for this call for projects are aligned with the CSRD.
