Understanding EPR

Extended Producer Responsibility is defined by the French anti-waste law for a circular economy (AGEC), and aims to cover the entire life cycle of products, from eco-design to waste management.

  • What are the sectors? 20 sectors are concerned by EPR. Ecomaison is approved for 4 of them. They relate to the world of the home and living spaces: furnishings (DEA), building products and materials (PMCB), DIY and garden items (ABJ), toys.
  • Who are the "producers"? This term refers to the company that places the product on the French market: a metteur sur le marché. This may be a manufacturer, importer or distributor with its own brand.

Compliance: Beware of missing IDUs
