What does eco-tax finance?
Extended Producer Responsibility requires companies that distribute or import new products onto the French market to finance the extension and end-of-life of their products.
All marketers must pay an eco-participation fee to an eco-organization, calculated according to the current scale.
Managing eco-participation through eco-design
Tariffs are calculated on the basis of product characteristics, industry management costs, and the eco-design efforts made by marketers. Premiums and penalties can be applied according to eco-design criteria:
