Among the winners of our joint Ecomaison x Ecominéro 2024 call for projects, discover Bouygues Construction subsidiary Cyneo, which was selected for its project to convert a logistics warehouse into a technical center in Saint-Aignan-de-Grand-Lieu, near Nantes.
The aim of this call for projects is to support ambitious projects promoting the reuse of building products and materials throughout France and the French overseas departments and territories. In 2024, Ecomaison and Ecominéro supported 36 exemplary reuse projects. Focus on Cyneo, a Bouygues Construction subsidiary.
Following the successful opening of its first technical center in the Ile-de-France region in 2023, Cyneo is proving once again that building with reuse is possible. In Loire-Atlantique, over an area of 3,000 m², the innovative new center designed by Cyneo as a showcase for the circular economy includes:
- five reconditioning workshops
- storage space for 1,000 pallets
- a marketplace-type digital platform to market second-hand products
- a 200 m² showroom dedicated to re-used products
- training rooms
- a co-working space

"This Cyneo center, dedicated to the reuse of materials in the Nantes region, is exemplary both in its design (using mostly reused materials) and in the range of services it provides to local players.
Maël L'Hostis, Regional Development Manager, Centre-Atlantique Ecomaison
A dense and comprehensive schedule to integrate reuse
The stages of this circular project include :
- Laboratory tests to validate the reuse of compliant suspended ceiling tiles
- Careful removal and reconditioning of materials for re-use
- Creation of a showroom to test and validate technical solutions
- Laying reused materials in landscaped areas
"This partial refurbishment project is a concrete demonstration that reuse can be integrated into ambitious projects and reduce carbon impact. Every stage has been designed to maximize reuse, while guaranteeing the quality and durability of the fittings."
Philippe Courtaud, manager of the Cyneo center in Nantes

Regional support and measurable results
With an investment of €400,000, Cyneo is rehabilitating this site as a model of circular rehabilitation and a showcase to inspire building professionals. The site's key figures testify to this exemplary approach:
- 85% of sanitary equipment, changing rooms and showers are re-used
- 100% of new modular partitions are existing partitions moved and reused on site
- 490 m² of OSB partitions and 350 m² of false ceiling tiles come from reuse channels
- 40% of new flooring (parquet, recycled carpet, decommissioned tiles) is reused
- 100% of luminaires replaced are reconditioned
- 1st flat glass recycling site
And when reuse was not possible, Cyneo favored the use of recycled, biosourced or geosourced materials, mostly supplied by local partners.

A collaborative approach
To carry out this project, like the 36 winners of the call for projects, Cyneo was able to count on the support and expertise of Ecominéro and Ecomaison, its regional team, and close cooperation with several specialized players:
- Gueule de Bois, for the reuse of wood, particularly in kitchens,
- La Miroiterie du Réemploi, for glazing,
- Rockfon, for false ceiling tiles,
- Proclus, for refurbished luminaires.
Promising prospects
This pilot site is the second Cyneo center in France, after Vitry-sur-Seine (opening in the Île-de-France region in 2023). It will also host training courses, events and tours, providing a concrete showcase for the possibilities offered by reuse and the circular economy.By 2027, the company aims to open a dozen more centers, with Lille, Lyon and Toulouse expected by 2025. These sites will help to structure local re-use channels and significantly reduce construction waste, while inspiring new practices in the building and civil engineering sector.
