Ecomaison is changing its eco-contribution rates for DIY and garden products to support the growing importance of the re-use and recycling sector.
New rates to optimize collection and recycling
To meet regulatory obligations and encourage the re-use and recycling of DIY and garden products, Ecomaison is introducing new eco-tax rates. They will apply to the products concerned from January 1, 2025.
The new eco-tax scale has been approved by the Ecomaison Board of Directors, on the recommendation of the DIY-Garden Stakeholders Committee.
The ambitious regulatory target of collecting almost 90,000 tonnes of waste by 2027 through a network of over 6,000 collection points makes these pricing changes imperative.

Since January 1, 2022, the French law on the fight against waste and the circular economy (Loi AGEC) has organized the implementation of an Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) channel for DIY and garden items, to ensure the management of their end-of-life. Ecomaison was approved for categories 3 and 4 of this stream on April 21, 2022.
Ecomaison rewards eco-design initiatives
Eco-participation is based on two key principles: costs specific to each product type, and recycling costs based on material composition.
In addition, eco-modulations for sustainable wood management and premiums for the incorporation of recycled materials are also included in these tariffs.
They complement the eco-modulation system for spare parts, in force since January 1, 2024.
