The re-use of professional packaging is now a priority enshrined in French legislation. To ensure that targets are met, a mandatory declaration must be submitted to ADEME every year. The next deadline is May 31, 2025, and Ecomaison has some solutions for you.
Regulatory targets set by decree
With Decree no. 2022-507 of April 8, 2022, precise targets for packaging reuse have been defined, based on company sales.
These regulations apply to all those who place packaging on the market, with a particular focus on industrial and commercial packaging. Ecomaison is mobilizing to simplify this obligation and help companies comply.
What are your obligations?
Does your company market professional packaging?
You are concerned by the following obligations:
- If your company sells more than 10,000 units of packaged products a year on the French market, it is subject to the regulatory obligation to declare its professional packaging, regardless of sales.
- With annual sales of €50 million or more, your company also has an obligation to achieve results. The reuse target for 2024: 6% of quantities put on the market.
- Lastly, Ecomaison's category 2 "non-inert" member companies in the building products and materials sector (also known as "REP PMCB") must declare separately the re-use of packaging for the following products: mortar, coatings, varnishes, resins, metals, wood, plaster, foams, plastics...
Limitations
Please note that this declaration applies exclusively to your professional packaging.
- It does not concern: Your packaging included in the household packaging sector and your packaging included in the chemical product contents and containers sector.
Our solutions
Ecomaison offers all its members concerned by the packaging reuse obligation the possibility of making a declaration in the Espace Services. The declared and consolidated data is then sent to ADEME.
We are also responsible for collecting and forwarding to ADEME declarations from companies involved in the building products and materials sector.
