To achieve its goal of zero waste, Ecomaison, the eco-organization for the whole home, has been offering you a 3-part partnership since its creation:

  • Services to access the deposit;
  • Financial support for reuse activities;
  • Solutions for the removal of unused products.

Since January 2024, to accelerate on reuse, the new furniture agreement for SSEs reinforces Ecomaison's support on this component.

By 2030, we'll be reusing twice as much as we do today

The specifications drawn up by the French government set a significant increase in the volume of objects destined for other lives:

50 000 tonnes re-used in 2023

100 000 tonnes in 2029

These ambitious targets, in terms of Ecomaison's market share, are achievable provided that we maintain a steady increase of 9,000 tonnes a year in volumes saved from the dumpster.

Ecomaison* re-use objective in the specifications :

table of expected growth in re-use in the sector.2024: 54,000 t2025: 63,000 t2026: 72,000 t2027: 81,100 t2028: 90,000 t2029:99,000 t

This new furniture agreement for SSEs gives you three new levers for action to boost re-use:

1. Better access to deposits through new channels

All products covered by eco-participation are eligible for our scheme. With this new agreement, we are stepping up our support for collection from private individuals as well as from professional holders (hotels, offices, construction sites, etc.). And we are developing access to qualitative sources via digital platforms.

Our support per incoming ton :

  • 40€/T collected through distribution or from professional holders or in the reuse zone of public drop-off centers.
  • 30€/T collected via voluntary drop-off, home collection and unpaid door-to-door collection.

2. Increasing our financial support

To support the development of reuse, we are increasing and broadening our financial support. We are creating a funding lever, a "Reemploi & Territoires" Call for Expressions of Interest, which will provide financial support for the launch of new projects that increase reemployment, as part of a local ecosystem approach.

  • Support for reuse: €130/T reused.
  • Call for expressions of interest worth €3.6 million in 2024.

3. Easier sorting of non-used WEEE

To make it easier for you to manage the furnishings that cannot be reused, we offer several solutions to suit your needs:

  • A container for mixed WEEE
  • Two containers, one of which allows separate collection of wood components (bi-flow scheme)
  • The Pro Card, which gives access to our collection points.

Our support for WEEE sorting :

  • 24.4€/T of mixed WEEE
  • 65€/T of sorted wood/non-wood WEEE

Gradual deployment

All Social and Solidarity Economy structures involved in the re-use of furnishings can sign up to our new agreement. The only condition is that they must be able to ensure the traceability of their reuse inputs and outputs.

Already an Ecomaison partner? Simply sign the new agreement in your space to benefit from the new advantages.

To support you, we offer materials already available on our website and in your personal space, as well as regular webinars and regional workshops.

Nathalie Tubiana

We'll be testing collection for reuse with the first furniture stores and SSE structures, to get the ball rolling. With these first deployments, we'll establish the winning schemes and tools to enable everyone to get started.

Nathalie Tubiana, SSE Partnership Development Project Manager

This new agreement shows that the furniture sector, like all the other sectors currently supported by Ecomaison, is moving towards an ambitious future for reuse, towards zero waste. We are proud to support these developments in the field.
