Ecomaison and the Brittany Region join forces to promote the circular economy.

On Friday October 31, 2025, Ecomaison and the Brittany Region signed a two-year partnership agreement that initiates much more than technical cooperation: together they are building a new way of anchoring the circular economy in the Breton territory.

With Brittany aiming for zero waste by 2040, this partnership is part of a shared ambition to make circularity a lever for territorial, economic and social transformation.

The circular economy, a lever for sustainable local development

Beyond the figures, this partnership illustrates a broader vision supported by Ecomaison: that of a model based on cooperation with local players, the development of reuse and recycling channels and the valorization of locally available resources.

With this in mind, Brittany is becoming a territory for full-scale experimentation, where the circular economy is taking shape on a daily basis: in waste collection centers, rehabilitation sites, recycling centers, repair workshops, or even collection points set up in retail outlets.

A model based on local alliances

For Ecomaison, scaling up the circular economy cannot be achieved without territorializing actions. This implies :

  • Rely on local authorities, local businesses and players in the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) to develop concrete, sustainable solutions;
  • Adapting systems to the logistical, social and economic realities of local areas;
  • Create the conditions for massive reuse, by structuring viable sectors on a regional scale;
  • Encourage the emergence of activities in the fields of eco-design, sorting, reuse, repair and recycling, which are a source of jobs that cannot be relocated.

The Breton convention translates this strategy into operational terms, by providing for meetings between regional players, support for innovation, and schemes dedicated to self-repair and the development of new sectors, such as ceramics.

A concrete vision of territorial impact

What Ecomaison proposes is not a theoretical vision of the circular economy, but a territorial engineering of circularity: to ensure that every tonne collected is recovered locally, that every used object can find a new function, and that every structure involved is strengthened in its role.

This approach is based on a commitment to proximity, embodied in a network of 39 partners from the Social and Solidarity Economy in Brittany, and on concrete tools such as the "Reemployment & Territories" Calls for Expressions of Interest.

Brittany, a pioneering region

By joining forces with the Brittany region, Ecomaison is confirming its commitment to anchoring its public-interest mission in local dynamics. This region, a pioneer in ecological transition, offers a framework conducive to innovation and cooperation.

Far from being a fixed model, this partnership is intended to inspire other regions. It demonstrates that the circular economy is both a response to environmental emergencies and an opportunity to transform territories, provided the right levers are used: proximity, reuse and cooperation.

Ecomaison provides you with practical collection solutions to help you do the right thing, in the right place. Free collection in store or on delivery, donation to a partner association, drop-off at a waste collection center... there's always a solution adapted to your situation.
