Domocité 2024

For the 9th year running, Ecomaison is a partner in the French furniture industry's annual applied research program Domocité.

How can we optimize resource management in the furniture industry?

The Domocité 2024 edition has been launched, in line with the industry's project to help achieve the 2030/2050 objectives of decarbonizing the French economy.

After a year dedicated to extending the useful life of furniture in 2023, the theme chosen for the 2024 program is optimizing resource management in the furniture industry.

Manufacturers, designers and distributors are invited to take part in collective discussions to reinvent ways of optimizing the management of resources and materials, from recycled materials to recyclability, not forgetting second life!

New perspectives for tomorrow's furnishings

The work carried out in 2023 byDOMOCITEon extending the useful life of furniture continues in 2024 under the aegis of thenew French Furnishings Lab, a laboratory for ideas and innovations in uses and lifestyles.

The launch of the 2024 edition took place on September 13 in Paris, to explain the context and objectives of this edition, introduce the participants and share the combined view of Ecomaison and FCBA on the challenge of resource availability and reuse

Following this first session, two ideation and development workshops will be held on October 11 and November 8, during which manufacturers, distributors and designers will work together to come up with concepts for optimizing resources, both in terms of eco-design and at end-customer level

The aim of this applied research program is to decipher changes in lifestyles that have an impact on the profession, to encourage innovation for the benefit of a more sustainable industry, and to imagine the solutions of tomorrow, in order to meet societal challenges and trigger the necessary transitions.

Thanks to a collaborative and iterative methodology, supported by a collective of players from the furniture industry, the program will be steered byAmeublement français, led by the MAOBI agency, and enriched by the expertise of partners from FCBA, FRENCH DESIGN and Ecomaison.
