A conference to decipher developments

Vincent du Granrut, Activity Manager for the DIY-Gardening sector at Ecomaison, will give an overview of the sector's regulatory obligations and 2027 objectives in terms of collection, recycling and eco-design.
Since January 1, 2022, the principle of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), otherwise known as the "polluter pays" principle, has applied to DIY and garden products. It obliges manufacturers and distributors in the DIY-Garden sector to finance the collection, reuse and recycling of the products they put on the market, through the payment of an eco-tax to Ecomaison.
Product take-back and the repair bonus: new tools under the anti-waste law
Since January 1, 2023, the AGEC Act has obliged distributors to offer their customers a service for the DIY and garden products they sell.
Ecomaison supports its members on a day-to-day basis as they roll out these new services to consumers. Joining Ecomaison means benefiting from regular regulatory monitoring, personalized advice and the provision of dedicated collection and communication tools.
Also introduced by the AGEC law, the "repair bonus" is an aid financed and deployed by Ecomaison, through the repair fund and the labeling of a network of approved repairers.
In concrete terms, this aid is designed to encourage the sharpening of cutting and pruning tools, as well as the repair of parasols and barbecues.
