To support the deployment of collection points for building waste, Ecomaison is changing its eco-tax rates with the introduction of eco-modulation measures. The new scale offers premiums based on the recyclability of materials, sustainable resource management and the incorporation of recycled materials by manufacturers.

To support the growing importance of the building products and building materials (PMCB) recycling sector, Ecomaison is changing its eco-tax rates, applicable from May 1, 2024. They are defined according to two principles:

  • Each family of materials finances its own collection and recycling costs,
  • Each material contributes financially to the collective objective of collecting and recycling sorted waste.

This new fee structure will enable Ecomaison to accelerate the deployment of collection points available free of charge. With a target of 2,500 equipped collection points (1,500 public drop-off centers, 800 distributors / retailers, 150 professional drop-off centers) by the end of 2024, Ecomaison plans to provide a local response to both professionals and private individuals. In addition, Ecomaison offers waste managers the opportunity to take back sorted building site waste, and will also carry out "preserving" collection actions aimed at re-use.

Eco-modulation of tariffs and premiums for the incorporation of recycled materials

Ecomaison offers prices based on three levels of material recyclability:

  • fully or predominantly recyclable and non-recyclable,
  • for bio-sourced materials,
  • for sustainable resource management.

Drawing on its experience in the Waste Furnishing Components (WFC) sector, Ecomaison applies these eco-modulations to all building materials and products.

Member companies can also benefit from premiums when they incorporate recycled materials into their new products. These premiums for the incorporation of recycled materials (I.M.R.) concern wood, metal, plastic and flexible or rigid polyurethane foam (PU).

Finally, new for marketers, Ecomaison will apply a reduction to the amount of eco-participation to be paid, when they themselves organize the re-use or recovery of waste from products identical to those they market.

An application to simplify waste disposal for professionals

To simplify waste take-back, Ecomaison has developed a web application - ourecycler.ecomaison.com - for professionals and craftsmen to geolocate collection points near worksites. The application makes it possible to :

  • Find dedicated collection points for construction waste
  • Identify whether its suppliers of construction products and materials are listed as collection points;
  • Determine which materials are collected at which collection points;
  • Anticipate and prepare waste deposit slips to ensure traceability
  • Download sorting instructions.

Helping professionals achieve compliance

Manufacturers, distributors, importers, marketplaces... all those who place construction products and materials on the market are subject to recycling regulations. They must join an eco-organization and apply the eco-participation to the products and materials concerned. Through its cross-cooperation agreement with Ecominéro (approved for category 1), Ecomaison offers regulatory compliance for the entire building sector, covering both inert and non-inert products and materials. In this way, Ecomaison offers manufacturers and distributors the possibility of joining a single eco-organization for both categories.
