Ecomaison brings together distributors and players in the Social and Solidarity Economy to boost re-use

To promote reuse within the framework of retailers' take-back obligations, Ecomaison offers a collection system that preserves the condition of products taken back and directs them towards reuse through its network of over 600 Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) partners. It's a win-win proposition: for retailers committed to a circular economy approach, and for associations, who gain access to high-quality, local sources.

Ecomaison develops collection systems to promote reuse. Our aim is to create links between stores and our SSE partners to extend the lifespan of the products collected when they are taken back in store or delivered. No longer of use to their users, these products are often in good condition and can be given a new life in a new home.

To organize the collection of products by retailers all year round, Ecomaison provides them with containers adapted to the size of the products they take back: collection bins for toys and small DIY and garden items at the entrance to the store, and a skip at the back of the store for mattresses and sofas, for example.

Re-use containers for furnishings

To ensure that the furnishings taken back by retailers are preserved in the best possible conditions, Ecomaison offers its distributor and/or delivery members the opportunity to provide them with closed and secure 16m3 or 30m3 reuse containers. The sheltered products are then collected by a social economy association for re-use.

Our goal: 10,000 metric tons of furnishings to be reused by 2024

Local partnerships between stores and associations

Thanks to its regional coordinators and its network of over 600 reuse partners, Ecomaison puts Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) associations in touch with stores that wish to do so. These reuse players thus have a direct, privileged link with local retailers, and directly recover properly preserved deposits.
