Innovation Day, Ecomaison boosts eco-design

Ecomaison is organizing the 4th Innovation Day in Paris on March 16 and 17, 2023. After 3 years dedicated to the home furnishings sector, Ecomaison is extending its innovation program to products and materials for DIY, gardening, construction, decorative textiles and toys. This year, some 200 participants are expected, including member manufacturers and distributors, and innovators selected from around the world by our experts to discuss eco-design.

To turn ideas into action and accelerate innovation in eco-design, Ecomaison has been running a dedicated program, Innovation for Eco-design, for several years now. Here, Ecomaison acts as an innovation catalyst, deploying novel solutions that are both economically and technically sustainable and replicable. These innovations can cover all stages of a product's life cycle: from raw materials to end-of-life and use.

Innovation Day, the annual eco-design event

During the event, Ecomaison members meet selected innovators and attend themed conferences and workshops to share issues, thoughts and solutions.

22 innovators

In 2022, some 50 of our members met 22 innovators.

Following each Innovation Day, a call for eco-design projects is launched, with a second one in the autumn.

Winning members and innovators then benefit from methodological and technical support from Ecomaison. A pilot project is developed over a 6-month period to validate the feasibility of the innovative solution by manufacturers or distributors. Our aim is to provide them with all our expertise to enable the pilot project to be developed on a larger scale, within a sustainable and replicable economic and technical framework.

20 projects

20 projects have been launched for 2022

Among the projects launched were alternative wood panels made from olive stones and other agricultural waste. This innovative wood can be used, for example, to make sliding doors. Another project involves the use of reversible adhesives to separate foam layers in mattresses, for example.

Innovation Day 2023, an exceptional edition under the banner of synergy

  • The 2023 edition - to be held on March 16 and 17, 2023 - is broadening its scope to include all household objects and products: furnishings, of course, but also DIY and garden items, toys, decorative textiles and building materials. Ecomaison works in all these sectors to reuse and recycle products.
  • During these 2 days, workshops will be organized on the recyclability of materials, rental and second-hand schemes, green chemistry, the use of recycled plastics, repair and spare parts management.
  • This year, nearly 200 participants are expected to attend, with a catalog of innovations enriched to present over 30 new solutions. In this way, Ecomaison aims to multiply our capacity to seek out, find and transfer techniques, new materials, solutions and innovations from one market to another... to stimulate ever more eco-design and the circular economy!
  • See you at the next Innovation Day, March 16-17, 2023!

Want to get involved? We'd love to hear from you!
