This reuse partnership between Ecomaison and Ecominéro has resulted in a joint call for projects focusing on the reuse of building materials. With 120 applications received, the call for projects generated considerable interest, illustrating the building sector's growing commitment to the circular economy.
In June 2024, a call for projects was launched by Ecomaison and Ecominéro with the aim of supporting building sites and operations involving deconstruction, rehabilitation, renovation and new construction by promoting the reuse of inert (category 1) and secondary (category 2) building products and materials (PMCB).
Ecomaison and Ecominéro partnership: reducing the environmental impact of construction through the circular economy
Ecominéro and Ecomaison, eco-organisations approved for the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) of Building Construction Products and Materials (PMCB), are working together to offer a shared service and a complete offer to their members.
The strategic partnership between Ecomaison and Ecominéro includes specific actions to increase the volumes of reuse and reuse, aiming for a target of 5% by 2028.
The two eco-organizations have gone a step further by launching a joint call for projects to support actions to reuse and recycle PMCB and give them a second life on building sites.

Promoting reuse and innovation on construction sites
The aim of this call for projects was to transform current practices by promoting the reuse of inert construction and finishing materials.
Its aim was to experiment with, make reliable and disseminate new reuse practices, while connecting construction sites to dedicated platforms to create local supply chains.
Ecomaison and Ecominéro intend to significantly increase the volumes of reused and reused materials. They want to contribute to the development of a dynamic circular economy. Parallel

Many participants
The call for projects was aimed at project owners (MOA), project managers (MOE), re-use project management assistants (AMOA), re-use project management assistants (AMOE), and public or private works companies.
Eligible projects were all deconstruction, rehabilitation, renovation and new construction projects or operations for which the applicant intends to reuse and/or significantly source
category 1 and/or 2 PMCB.
A total of 120 entries were received, making this first edition a real success.
Selection of 36 innovative projects
Among the entries, 36 particularly innovative projects were selected, including 27 for Ecomaison, with or without Ecominéro. Spread across mainland France and Reunion Island, these projects attracted the jury's attention for a number of outstanding features, including :
- Re-use of atypical materials: Some projects involve the re-use of wooden frameworks, requiring complex removal operations and laboratory tests to ensure their re-usability.
- Integration of professional reintegration: Several worksites integrate professional reintegration actions, both on the construction sites and within the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE), reinforcing the link between reuse and social commitment.
- Management by SSE structures: Demolition and reuse are entrusted to SSE structures, promoting a circular economy while fostering social inclusion.
- Responsible project management: A project is managed by an SSE player, ensuring ethical and socially responsible management.
- Overseas worksites: On Reunion Island, projects are focusing on the reuse of equipment and materials from demolition or rehabilitation, thus enhancing the value of local resources.

Technical and financial support for projects
Winners will receive technical support and financial assistance ranging from €5,000 to €45,000 per site, to help them implement their reuse initiatives.
Towards a new edition in 2025
Encouraged by the success of this first edition, Ecomaison and Ecominéro are already preparing the second edition of the call for projects for 2025.
